DDW Pic 2481. Pirates

Pirates
Pirates of the Caribbean is one of the most classic of Disney attractions. Even before you enter the building, you are immersed in the theme. This lookout "pirate" can be seen from a distance, when walking from the area of the Jungle Cruise. I took this shot while giving a Magic Kingdom tour a few days ago.

DDW Pic 2480. Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear
There are so many topiaries around Epcot for the Flower and Garden Festival, and most can be found in the World Showcase area.. However, I think that the best "placed " one is right in front of Mission Space. Buzz Lightyear is certainly the best representative for a pavilion that takes you "to infinity and beyond."

DDW Pic 2479. DiVine

DiVine
DiVine is an Animal Kingdom treasure, who has been captivating guests for years. She is a green, plant/woman hybrid who can often be found among the foliage in the Oasis area of the park. I took this shot while giving a tour last week.

DDW Pic 2478. UP! A Great Bird Adventure

UP! A Great Bird Adventure
Animal Kingdom turned 20 yesterday, and a new bird show debuted. UP! A Great Bird Adventure took the place of the old Flights of Wonder show. This new version stars Dug and Russell from the movie, UP. I took this shot of the recently refurbished theater, while waiting for the show to start.

DDW Pic 2477. Rivers of Light

Rivers of Light
The Rivers of Light has quickly become one of my favorite nighttime shows at Walt Disney World. The theme is great, and the soundtrack is phenomenal. I took this shot of the floating tiger a few days ago, while watching the show with family.

DDW Pic 2476. Casitas

Casitas
Coronado Springs is a very large resort, with several uniquely themed areas. I had family staying here last week. This shot was taken in the Casitas section, which isn’t far from the front of the resort.

DDW Pic 2475. Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular
One of the best nighttime shows currently running at Walt Disney World is Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. It is a great combination of fireworks and huge projections, and it takes place nightly at Hollywood Studios. I took this shot of these giant towers of fire a few days ago, while enjoying the show with family.

DDW Pic 2474. Flower and Garden Festival

Flower and Garden Festival
I was at the Flower and Garden Festival a few days ago, when I took this shot. I thought it captured the spirit of Epcot, during this time of year. The monorail lined up nicely behind this large flower display.

DDW Pic 2473. Meerkat

Meerkat
The Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail is known primarily for its amazing gorillas. However, there are some other interesting animals to be found here. The meerkats are cute little guys that are fun to watch. I took this shot today, while giving an Animal Kingdom tour.

DDW Pic 2472. Frozen Ever After

Frozen Ever After
One of my favorite discoveries is when I find a tribute to an extinct attraction hidden in a new one. I noticed such a reference while riding Frozen Ever After a few days ago. The “Maelstrom” was the ride that was replaced by Frozen in the Norway pavilion.

DDW Pic 2471. Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo
Finding Nemo - The Musical is one if the best shows on Disney property. The combination of talented, live singers and puppeteers make this a “must do” when spending a full day at Animal Kingdom. I took this shot of the fish tank scene, while enjoying the production with family today.

DDW Pic 2470. Dolphins

Dolphins
The dolphins recently returned to The Seas pavilion at Epcot. While touring with family today, it was fun to see all four of them together at one time. This is the first time I was able to get the whole group in one shot.

DDW Pic 2469. Coronado Springs

Coronado Springs
Coronado Springs is one of my favorite Disney resorts. It is a huge property, with multiple pools, several good restaurants, and fun theming. I spent yesterday afternoon with family at the Dig Site pool complex, which features this impressive pyramid structure.

DDW Pic 2468. Kilimanjaro Safaris

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom is known for its amazing animals and impressive landscapes. The African theming carries over to the exit area of the attraction, as well. This Harambe Wildlife Reserve vehicle can be seen near Warden Post No. 4, just as guests are walking off the ride.

DDW Pic 2467. Safari Mickey

Safari Mickey
Guests can meet Mickey Mouse in every Disney park, and he can also be seen in multiple shows and parades around property. The safari version of Mickey is one of my favorites, as he embodies the theming of Animal Kingdom. I took this shot while giving a tour a few days ago.

DDW Pic 2466. Bambi

Bambi
There are so many good topiaries at the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival this year. Bambi is located in the area of World Showcase near the transition from Future World. I took this shot using the portrait feature on the iPhone.

DDW Pic 2465. BB-8

BB-8
Although the Easter season is over, I wanted to post one more shot from the Easter Egg displays at the Grand Floridian. BB-8 is nearly the shape of an egg anyway, so this creation made sense. However, it may be the only Star Wars droid made primarily of chocolate.

DDW Pic 2464. Governor Ratcliffe

Governor Ratcliffe
There are many common characters, such as Mickey and Minnie, that can be found throughout the Disney parks. However, there are some who are seen much less frequently. Governor John Ratcliffe from Pocahontas is one such character. I took this shot just inside the entrance of Animal Kingdom yesterday.

DDW Pic 2463. Nomad Lounge

Nomad Lounge
The relatively new Tiffins restaurant at Animal Kingdom has a nice spot to take a break from the hustle and bustle of this park. Known as the Nomad Lounge, it includes a fairly large, indoor seating area, as well as a porch overlooking the river. I took this shot from the bridge to Pandora yesterday, as my tour guests were enjoying lunch at Tiffins.

DDW Pic 2462. Pandora

Pandora
I normally don’t post simple crowd photos, but the Avatar phenomenon at Animal Kingdom is something to see. I took this shot this morning, right near the entrance to the Pandora area. We were standing in this spot a full half hour before "official" park opening time, and within five minutes, there were several thousand people behind us. The popularity of the Flight of Passage attraction cannot be overstated, with normal wait times still averaging close to three hours.

DDW Pic 2461. Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom
It has been a while since I was stopped in a perfect spot for this shot. A few days ago, I found myself in a center lane at the Magic Kingdom auto plaza. I was just enough cars back to get the whole sign in the picture, without the cars in front of me entering the frame.

DDW Pic 2460. Nine Dragons

Nine Dragons
There are many great restaurants to be found in the World Showcase area of Epcot. One of our favorites is Nine Dragons, which is part of the China pavilion. I took this shot right near closing time, when I dined there with family last week. You can see that the restaurant empties out quickly, as most guests rush outside to catch Illuminations.

DDW Pic 2459. Walt Disney World Railroad

Walt Disney World Railroad
The Walt Disney Workd Railroad consists of four trains. However, I had not been able to get a photo with more than one engine.....until now. A few days ago, I was waiting for my guests to arrive at Fantasyland Station, when I noticed the Roy O.Disney engine. It was waiting on the side track that comes from the maintenance facility. Then, moments later, the Roger Broggie came along, on the main track. This allowed me to grab a photo of both engines in the same shot.
